AM Stats: China's consumption of imported bauxite up by 9.26% MOM in Aug

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Sep 20 - According to Asian Metal Database, China consumed about 9.44 million tonnes of imported bauxite in August 2020, up by 9.26% MOM and 14.70% YOY. From January to August, China's consumption of imported bauxite totaled about 69.3 million tonnes, up by 18.76% from the same period of last year.
Based on the data, Shandong consumed about 6.59 million tonnes of imported bauxite in August, up by 8.21% MOM, and Shanxi consumed about 1.36 million tonnes, up by 18.26% MOM. The consumption volume in Henan was about 790,000 tonnes in the month, down by 1.25% MOM; that in Chongqing was about 290,000 tonnes, unchanged MOM; that in Inner Mongolia was about 150,000 tonnes, on par with July.
