KC Corporation suspended production of white fused alumina

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 31 Jul 20 - KC Corporation, a white fused alumina producer in South Korea, suspended production since mid July and plans to resume production in early September, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We suspended production since the middle of this month and expect no output in August," said the source, adding that they would resume production in early September. The source also disclosed that their stocks increased rapidly since early this year due to the weak demand . They held around 20,000t of stocks in January, nearly doubled from January.
Based on an annual production capacity of 280,000t, they produced around 18,000t in July and expect no output in August due to the suspension. They are holding around 20,000t of stocks, the same with last month . They produced around 250,000t in 2019 and about 100,000t in the first 6 months of 2020.
The current mainstream prices of white fused alumina 99%min 1-3mm keep at USD550-570/t CIF South Korea, unchanged from last week.
