Environmental protection tax amount of taxable air and water pollutants adjusted in Liaoning

On May 11th, the 18th meeting of the 13th Liaoning Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee approved the plan on adjusting the applicable environmental protection tax amount on taxable air pollutants and water pollutants in Liaoning province.
The plan raises the tax amount of sulfur dioxide and nitride oxides of air pollutants by 100% to RMB2.40/pollution equivalent (USD0.34/pollution equivalent), but keeps that of other pollutants unchanged at RMB1.20/pollution equivalent (USD0.17/pollution equivalent). Meanwhile, it raises the tax amount of chemical oxygen demand and ammonia nitrogen of air pollutants by 100% to RMB2.80/pollution equivalent (USD0.39/pollution equivalent), but keeps that of other pollutants steady at RMB1.40/ pollution equivalent (USD0.20/pollution equivalent).
