On January 2nd, 2014, the U . S . Department of Commerce initiated the first rapid antidumping sunset review on small diameter graphite electrodes imported from China . On May 7th, 2014, the U . S . Department of Commerce made the first final antidumping sunset ruling on the materials from China . On May 1st, 2019, the U . S . Department of Commerce instituted the second sunset antidumping review on small-diameter graphite electrodes imported from China . On August 27th, 2019, the U . S . Department of Commerce made the second antidumping sunset ruling on the materials imported from China.

International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty order on imports of small diameter graphite electrodes from China would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time . As a result of the Commission's affirmative determination, the existing antidumping duty order on imports of this product from China will remain in place .
