Bolsonaro says Trump not to levy tariffs on Brazilian steel and aluminum

The United States will not levy tariffs on Brazilian steel and aluminum, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro announced on Friday after a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Later, Trump said on social media that that they two had a pleasant talk on a number of issues but did not explicitly mention tariffs.
In March 2018, Trump announced that he would impose tariffs of 25 percent and 10 percent on steel and aluminum imports, citing the results of section 232, on the grounds that the imports endangered "national security" of the United States. Since then, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina and other counties have agreed to impose quota control on steel and aluminum exports to the U.S. in exchange for tariff exemptions.
On December 2, Trump said on social media that the sharp depreciation of the Brazilian and Argentine currencies was bad for American farmers, so the U.S. would immediately "resume" tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Brazilian and Argentine.
Brazil is one of the main steel suppliers to the United States, second only to Canada.
