BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Jun 18 - Huludao Huaxing Zirconium Titanium Co., Ltd. suspended production of titanium tetrachloride this week due to equipment maintenance and expects to resume normal production in late June.
A source from the company stated that they halted production as the environmental protection inspection has become stricter and stricter since June and their equipment needs to be maintained, with the output of titanium tetrachloride expected to be reduced by two thirds in the month. At present, the company's selling price for titanium tetrachloride is RMB6,500/t (USD1,017/t) EXW.
Mainly engaging in titanium tetrachloride, the company has a capacity of 30,000tpy and saw a regular monthly output of about 2,500t of titanium tetrachloride in recent two months.
