Tsingshan finalizes cooperation agreement with ERAMET on nickel development

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Jun 17 - On 8 June, 2017, the Chinese steel company Tsingshan Holding Group (“Tsingshan”) finalized the cooperation agreement with the French mining and metallurgical group ERAMET to develop the Weda Bay nickel deposit in Indonesia.
This partnership is composed of 43% of the shares held by ERAMET and 57% by Tsingshan, and both sides will exert their own technical advantages in mining and industrial sectors to produce ferronickel through pyrometallurgical processes in Indonesia.
This joint venture is expected to have an annual nameplate capacity of 30,000 tons of nickel.
