Australia initiates review of anti-dumping measures for aluminium extrusions exported to Australia from China

Australia Anti-Dumping Commission released Anti-Dumping Notice No.2017/38 on 22 March 2017, claiming that it would initiate a review of the anti-dumping measures (in the form of dumping duty notice and a countervailing duty notice) applying to certain aluminum extrusions exported to Australia from China based on the applications lodged on 10 February 2017 by Guangdong Haomei Aluminium Co
On 24 June 2009, the Australian Customs and Border Protection Department initiated an anti-dumping and countervailing investigation on imported aluminum extrusions from China at the request of Capral Limited, an Australian domestic aluminum producer. The anti-dumping measures were initially imposed by public notice on 28 October 2010 following the publication of Trade Remedies Branch Report No . 148 . On 20 October 2015, in response to the findings of Continuation Inquiry No . 287, the then Assistant Minister for Science and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science continued the measures for a further five years, until 28 October 2020, with the anti-dumping duty rate at 0 . 0-28 . 3% and countervailing duty rate at 0 . 6-20 . 2% . The goods are currently classified to the following tariff subheadings in Schedule 3 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995: 7604 . 10.00/06, 7604 . 21.00/07, 7604 . 21.00/08, 7604 . 29.00/09, 7604 . 29.00/10, 7608 . 10.00/09, 7608 . 20.00/10, 7610 . 10.00/12 and 7610 . 90.00/13.

Affected parties may lodge an application at no later than 1 May 2017.
