Guangdong remained the biggest secondary aluminum alloy ingot producing region in September, with a volume of around 74,800t, up by 2.2% MOM, followed by Shanghai, Chongqing and Jiangsu, with volumes at 33,500t, 33,000t and 31,900t respectively . The output in Chongqing moved up by 34 . 7% MOM in September.

According to the data, 13 producers witnessed output increase in September. The average operating rate for Chinese running secondary aluminum ingot plants was around 57 . 08% in September, up from 54 . 6% in August.
In September, a few of producers resumed normal production after the environmental protection inspection, leading to output increase. In addition, demand for the metal increased in late Q3 . In early October, a few producers cut or halted production during the China’s National Day holiday, so the output may decline a bit in October . In addition, although both demand and prices increased, secondary aluminum alloy ingot producers faced difficulty in expanding production due to tight aluminum scraps supply.
