Pakistani CRC importers inactive in placing orders

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Sep 15 - Influenced by the stagnant demand from local customers, CRC importers in Pakistan are very cautious about placing orders even though prices are lower and lower. The current import price of SPCC 1.0mm*1,220mm*C is USD340-345/t CFR Karachi, down by USD10/t compared with that of a month ago. Insiders predict that CRC import prices can hardly rebound in the near future.
An importer from Lahore says that he receives a quotation of USD345/t CFR Karachi for SPCC 1.0mm*1,220mm*C from Chinese suppliers, down by USD10/t compared with that of a month ago. He did not place orders at this price.
As he reveals, it is hard to deal with CRC trading business this year. The source reveals that he has stopped importing CRC from China since early September and is mainly importing HRC at the moment. However, his import volume for CRC was regularly at 3,000-4,000 tons per month in Q1 and Q2 of this year. “Prices of CRC went down sharply in July and I got a loss during that month,” he says, adding that he has no plan to restart the business of CRC in the short term.
An importer from Karachi reports to Asian Metal that the price of SPCC 1.0mm*1,220mm*C he gets from China is USD340/t CFR Karachi, down by USD10/t compared with that of a month ago. He has not concluded deals with suppliers at this price.
