BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Jun 15 - According to Asian Metal Database, Chinese aluminum fluoride output moved down by 1.91% MOM to around 55,100t in May. The total output from January to May climbed up by 2.18% YOY to around 0.27 million tonnes.
Chinese aluminum fluoride output by month (10,000t)
From the above graph, we learnt that the aluminum fluoride output in China declined a bit in May, when part Chinese aluminum fluoride producers cut production due to losses. In May, hydrofluoric acid market became strong, so many aluminum fluoride producers turned to produce hydrofluoric acid, leading to aluminum fluoride output decline.
Chinese aluminum fluoride inventories slid down by around 18% MOM to about 12,300t in late May because of the output decrease. However, prices for aluminum fluoride had no improvement, as Chinese aluminum ingot producers are still in trouble of tight capital turnover. Meanwhile, competition in the export market became fierce. If the aluminum fluoride price continues to stay at a low level in June, Chinese aluminum fluoride producers may not resume normal production and output may not recover soon.
