Chinese gallium metal prices move down slightly

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Sep 14 - Sources reported to Asian Metal that prices for Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min have dropped by around RMB20/kg (USD3/kg) recently, hovering in the range of RMB1,280-1,330/kg (USD208-216/kg) at present. However, limited by the high production cost, it is predicted that it’s hard for the prices to go down further.
With an output of 2 tpm, a gallium metal 99.99%min producer in North China noted to Asian Metal that their concluded price for gallium metal is RMB1,280/kg (USD208/kg), lowered by RMB20/kg (USD3/kg) than that of one week ago. “The concluded price has indeed moved down a little in recent days,” he said.
The source revealed that they have concluded several new orders recently at the price of RMB1,280/kg (USD208/kg) and there are also several deals under negotiations. “Besides the regular orders, we received several new orders, but even so, the downstream demand is still a little weak and therefore the price is so low at present,” added the source.
