Thai wire rod price unchanged

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Dec 13 - The price of wire rod in Thailand keeps stable at present with that of JIS SWRM15 Φ5.5mm from local mills at THB19,800-20,000/t (USD608-614/t, VAT excluded). Insiders predict that the price will be flat in coming days of this week.
A steel nail producer in Bangkok who needs to purchase wire rod said the current price of wire rod JIS SWRM15 Φ5.5mm from local mills is THB19,900/t (USD608/t, VAT excluded), unchanged compared with that of last week.
The source said the political situation in Bangkok does not make progress and the protest against the government is going on, so it influences many aspects of the society, especially the economy. His clients place fewer orders with him but he has to purchase wire rod normally from steel mills with a monthly volume of 1,500-2,000t, so the capital flow is not smooth and business is hard to run. In order to avoid further risks, the source only produces nails when buyers place orders.
