Ms. Jenny Liu, marketing manager of Carbones Holding Gmbh, visited Asian Metal on Tuesday October 21, and engaged in discussions covering every aspects of magnesium metal market in 2014 with Daphne Zhang, senior analyst of Minor Metal Department. Meanwhile, Jenny Liu also exchanged idea on iron ore market with senior analyst Victor Hu and assistant analyst Molly Zhang of Raw Materials Department from Asian Metal.
Commenting on the market transactions and price trend for magnesium metal in 2014, Jenny Liu confirmed that price of magnesium metal has kept low level for a long time in 2014 owing to oversupply and price competitions, and thin activity continues in European market. Meanwhile, Jenny opined that if the current oversupply situation is not reversed, price of magnesium ingot will keep marking down in the remainder of Q4, which will restrain purchasing plan from buyers. At last, Jenny spoke highly of past three magnesium fora held by Asian Metal, and she is looking forward to the coming 4th forum with expectation to know and engage more with magnesium insiders and to get more information.
Jenny Liu also exchanged ideas on iron ore market with market analysts Molly Zhang and Victor Hu. Liu is concerned about the status of iron ore supply and demand and capital status of steel mills in China. Considering good export performance of steel products, Liu believed that it’s still profitable for them to enter the market. They plan to import Venezuela iron ore to China and have reached a preliminary intent on cooperation with a Venezuela iron ore supplier and may make the final decision of whether implementing the plan according to Chinese buyers’ attitudes. Liu also discussed iron ore market tendency in the next half-year with Asian Metal and communicated on cooperation of information exchange with Asian Metal.
