- The 2nd World Silicon Forum was successfully held in Xiamen, China on May 26th to 28th 2014. The forum was held by Asian Metal and sponsored by Xiamen K Metal Co., Ltd., Xining Metals and Minerals Import & Export (Group) Co., Ltd., Yunnan Grand Silicon Logistics Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Zhongcheng Silicon Co., Ltd., and Yunnan Guichu Logistics Co., Ltd. The main topics for the forum covered silicon metal, silicon metal powder, organosilicon, polysilicon and aluminum alloy. The forum was widely supported by participants in the silicon industry and around 150 representatives throughout the world attended the forum
- The forum started at 9:00 am on May 27th, and Mr. Zhiyong Zheng, General Manager of Xiamen K Metal Co., Ltd., made the opening speech.
- Firstly, Mr. Eric Duan, assistant of GM in Yunnan Yongchang Silicon Industry Co., Ltd., interpreted the “Silicon Metal” National Standard Modification 2008 in detail.
- After that, Mr. Jeff Lv, Vice President of GCL-Poly Energy Holding Limited, delivered a speech with the title of “Current Status and Outlook of Polysilicon Industry in China”. He introduced the challenges and opportunities that the Chinese polysilicon industry has seen in the recent years and analyzed the current industry situation and the future outlook.
- Mr. Sanyue Wang, Director of Technical Center of Bluestar Jiangxi Xinghuo Organic Silicone Plant, then made a speech with the title of “Analysis and Discussion on Integrated Operation of Silicon Metal and Organosilicon”.
- After the coffee break, Mr. Guojun Ma, General Manager of Beijing Dadi Zelin Silicon Industry Co., Ltd., analyzed the current domestic silicon metal powder market and shared his suggestions for the healthy development of the industry.
- Then, Mr. Bart Udeshi from Metals Range delivered a speech, which mainly introduced the current economy in India, silicon metal market situation and the downstream aluminum alloy market outlook.
- The conference continued at 2:00 pm on May 27th. Mr. Binbin Li, Vice General Manager of Jinan Yinfeng Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., shared his ideas on the global silicon metal powder market.
- After that, Mr. Hong Xie, President of Yunnan Guichu Logistics Co., Ltd., reported on the subject of “Silicon Metal Market in Yunnan and Quality Disputes Resolution in Trading”. The report indicated the production situation of silicon metal smelters in Yunnan and his suggestions on reducing the quality disputes in silicon metal trading.
- Ms Jenny Zeng, Export Manager of Zhejiang Zhongcheng Silicon Co., Ltd., then gave a report about Chinese silicon metal market review and the outlook in 2014.
- At last, the conference entered into the seminar part which is directed by Mr. Jian Ding, President of Yunnan Grand Silicon Logistics Co., Ltd. Honored guests of the seminar include Mr. Lanqing Shi, General Manager of Zhejiang Zhongcheng Silicon Co., Ltd.; Mr. Hanhua Zhu, Vice GM of Jiangsu Zhongneng Silicon Industry Technology Development Co., Ltd.; Mr. Eric Duan, assistant of GM in Yunnan Yongchang Silicon Industry Co., Ltd.; Mr. Guojun Ma, general manager of Beijing Dadi Zelin Silicon Co., Ltd. and Mr. Feng Liu, Vice GM of Jinan Yinfeng Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.. The seminar focused on topics about market trend of silicon metal, silicon metal powder and polysilicon. All the guests expressed their opinions on the topics and answered questions from listeners.
