End of Forum

On September 13-14, Asian Metal welcomed over one hundred delegates from China and overseas at the Greenland Holiday Hotel Xi’an, China, for the first World Titanium Forum. During the conference session, delegates had many opportunities to interact with one another on the current trend in the titanium sector including titanium ore, titanium slag, titanium sponge and ferrotitanium as well as discuss levels of the global supply chain, including producers, traders, suppliers, consumers etc..

The event began on the afternoon of September 13 as employees from the Beijing office welcomed guests on the lobby of the hotel for registration and accreditation. The guests gathered in the lobby and communicated with each others in order to find new business opportunities.

On the early morning of September 14, Wang Guisheng, the professor of Beijing Nonferrous Metal Research Institute, gave the first report of Development of titanium industry and application of titanium material, which made attendees have a clear view of titanium industry and provided an outlook of the future titanium market. He was followed by He Tongzheng, senior engineer from Panzhihua Iron&Steel Research Institute, who explained titanium and titanium alloy investment precision casting. The first morning session was concluded by Artur Bugulov, the marketing director of IRC Limited. He spoke about mining and processing of ilmenite.

Following the morning break, Tang Jiansheng, assistant production manager of Yunnan Copper Industry Co., Ltd., analyzed Chinese titanium slag and rutile. The last speaker in the morning was Helen Cao, general manager of Shanghai Huaxia Titanium Co., Ltd.. He shared his outlook of Chinese titanium product export.

Following lunch on the hotel’s rooftop deck, participants welcomed Ma Honghai, deputy section chief of development department of Baoti Group Co., Ltd., to analyse the demand of raw material of titanium products. The next speaker Wang Shaozhuo is the minister of technology department of CATIC Titanium Industry Co., Ltd.. He analysed the application of titanium alloy in aviation industry. Li Changjiang, the general manager of Xi'an Baotimet Valinox Tubes Co., Ltd., made a review and outlook about titanium welding pipe in China. After the tea break, Wang Xiaofeng, manager of market of Baoji First Titanium Co., Ltd., made a speech of review and outlook about titanium in China in 2012. The last speaker Liu Runze, engineer of Baoji INT Titanium Material Co., Ltd., talked about the research and production of titanium alloy joint handle and artificial limb.

Following the conclusion of the presentations, summit delegates enjoyed a dinner party at a local restaurant where many stayed to wrap-up final meetings and bid farewell until next year.
