End of Summit
On June 20-22, Asian Metal welcomed over one hundred delegates from China and overseas at the Goethe Hotel Hangzhou, China, for its annual International Ferroalloy Summit. During the conference session, delegates had many opportunities to interact with one another on the current trend in the ferroalloys sector as well as discuss levels of the global supply chain, including producers, traders, magnet suppliers, consumers etc..
The event began on the afternoon of June 20 as employees from the Beijing office welcomed guests on the lobby of the hotel for registration and accreditation. The guests gathered in the lobby and communicated with each others in order to find new business opportunities.
On the early morning of June 21, Wang Xiaoguang, the research director of Development and Reform Commission, gave the first report of Analysis of China macro-economic situation in 2012, which made attendees have a clear view of the current Chinese economy and provided an outlook of the economic readjustment and government policy in future. He was followed by Thembinkosi Gcoyi, counselor from Economic of Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, who explained the development strategy of mineral resources of the South African government. The first morning session was concluded by Guo Peimin, the director of Low Temperature Metallurgy & High-Efficiency Utilization Centre. He spoke about the new technologies of ferrotungsten smelting in steel industry.
Following the morning break, Dr. Chen Jiabin, vice director of the Department of Resource & Management of Chinese Academy of Land and Resource Economics, analyzed the global supply and demand condition for molybdenum and Chinese resource policy practice. The last speaker in the morning was Qiu Jinguo, the marketing director of Dalian Galaxy Metal Materials Co., Ltd. He addressed the session on the global vanadium resources condition and shared his outlook of Chinese vanadium market.
Following lunch on the hotel’s rooftop deck, participants welcomed Lu Caiyuan, the secretary general of Shanxi Ferroalloy Enterprises Association, to make a brief introduction of Chinese ferroalloy industry development trend. He also introduced Shanxi Ferroalloy Enterprises Association to all participants. The next speaker Cao Wenquan is the general manager of Yildirim Group Beijing Representative Office. He predicted the future chrome and ferrochrome market trend in China, which had great guiding significance for the attendees. Xia Gang, the general manager of Million Link (China) Investment Limited, built an online auction platform for participants of non-mainstream manganese ore, which will probably benefit the development of non-mainstream manganese ore market in future. After the tea break, Zhang Guozuo, the chief representative of China Metal and Special Steel Co.,Ltd, made a speech of Analysis of Ferroniobium Demand and Supply in Chinese Market and the Market Prospect. The last speaker Changming Xu, the tech manager of Asia Technology Center, Rio Tinto Minerals, talked about the global boron resources condition and its application in the steel industry.
Following the conclusion of the presentations, summit delegates enjoyed a final networking lunch at the hotel where many stayed to wrap-up final meetings and bid farewell until next year.
