End of Summit

Ferroalloys Summit 2009 has come to a successful close at Horizon Resort, Sanya, Hainan on April 30, 2009.

The summit brought together more than 150 delegates from 100 companies who exchanged their ideas and experiences on opportunities and challenges being posed in the ferroalloys industry.

Mr. Yang Yongxin, Director of Industry Structure Dept. of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has made speech on Development of Chinese Ferroalloys Industry and Policy Trend and also answered questions brought forward by some attendees.

Ms Liu Jing, Vice General Manager of Sinosteel Raw Materials Co.,Ltd, and Mr Vivek Kumar Seth, Senior Manager of Tata Steel Ltd, gave a speech of Analysis of Chinese Ferrochrome and Chrome Ore Markets and Outlook Of Indian Chrome Industry respectively.

Mr. Zhang Xifeng, Vice General Manager of Ningxia Commercial Group Co., Ltd CNSIC and Chairman of Ningxia Commercial Foreign Trade Co., Ltd, and Mr. Shawn Tan, International Marketing Director of Mei Yuan Trading (Thailand) Co., Ltd, have made speeches on Ferrosilicon Production and Market Adjustment under New Economic Environment and Prospect of Southeast Asian Manganese Ore Market respectively, and they also actively participated in the discussion for the future of Chinese ferrosilicon and manganese alloys industry.

At the conference, Mr. Yorihisa, Senior Manager of Mitsui & Co., Ltd, gave us a detailed analysis of Japanese ferroalloys industries and Mitsui's activities in Japanese ferroalloys markets.

Participants generally believe that although the whole ferroalloys industry remains sluggish currently caused by the global economic crisis, ferroalloys market will recover in the second half of 2009 prompted by the improvement of Chinese economy and steel industry.
