AM Statistics: Xinjiang produces 250,700 tons of primary aluminum in November

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Dec 13 - The newly-built aluminum smelting capacities in Xinjiang come on stream gradually and production keeps increasing. As survey by Asian Metal, primary aluminum production was 250,700 tons in Xinjiang in November. Operation rate of these smelters was 66.74%.
Most of aluminum smelters in Xinjiang are expanding capacity. One of them is Xinfa Group who has built the capacity of 1.35 million tons per annum and has already have 1.1 million tons on stream. Tianshan Aluminum is the runner-up, having the capacity of 900,000tpy built and 700,000tpy on running.
East Hope Xinjiang also has the capacity of 450,000tpy on running and is building another 450,000tpy. Xinjiang Qiya finished the construction of 400,000tpy and Jiarun Resources has 450,000tpy till now.
Primary aluminum production in Xinjiang was just 1.11 million tons in 2012, and the production will be more than 2 million tons this year.
