The Chinese gallium metal market saw few variations in February. Mainstream prices of gallium metal 99.99%min hovered at RMB1,700-1,800/kg (USD273281/kg), keeping the same as those of last month. Influenced by the Chinese Spring Festival holidays, many companies left the gallium metal market in early days of February and came back in late of the month. Thus, there were no many operators in the market which led to scarce deals in the spot market. Demand from downstream industry remained weak and was difficult to recover, consumers lacked enthusiasm to make procurements. Suppliers were under pressure to conclude deals successfully. Market participants stated that gallium was operated in an electronic platform in the early this month and they believed that the new operation mode would impact the gallium market in the coming months. Oversea gallium metal markets also had no good news in the month. Demand was weak and deals in the spot market were few as well. Foreign market participants lacked confidence on the future market.
