The domestic stainless steel market did not make any progress in January, the last month before the traditional Chinese festival-Spring Festival. Most buyers left the market in the middle of the month and traders also began taking holiday from the third week. Although they thought the market price would go up after the Spring Festival, few traders built up high inventories because they worried that the price increase would not maintain long. Insiders predict that prices will move up after the holiday with the demand releasing coupled with the support of higher production cost.
