The domestic stainless steel market was getting worse in December, with the approach of the New Year. Prices of most stainless steel products went down this month along with the downward price trend of the raw material-nickel. Meanwhile, the demand from downstream buyers was softer at the year end, so although some certain products’ prices moved up slightly, the general terrible situation was not changed. It would be the Spring Festival on February 10th and market participants will take the holiday from middle of January, so observers predict that the stainless steel market would be more sluggish and prices are unlikely to rebound in the first month of 2013.
