BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Nov 12 – Antimony ingot price keeps going down this week as buying activity was thin in the past week and major producers stopped buying in antimony ingot.
A Hunan-based producer with an output of about 300tpm told Asian Metal that he offers about RMB69,500/t (USD11,174/t) ex works for antimony ingot 99.65%min at this moment, down by RMB1,000/t (USD161/t) from that of last week. “Buyers are not interested in the offer of about RMB69,500/t (USD11,174/t) ex works at this moment,” said the source, adding a quiet market.
The source holds about 500t of antimony ingot in stock now and expects the price of antimony ingot will go down in the following weeks if there is no any favorable news as some producers have to ease the financial or sales pressure at the end of the year. “The overseas buyers will leave for Christmas holiday after Mid-December,” said the source.
A Hunan-based antimony trioxide producers with an output of about 400tpm told Asian Metal that he holds around 800t of antimony trioxide in stock now. “I bought about 100t of antimony ingot 99.65%min at around RMB69,500/t (USD11,174/t) delivered ten days ago when the price rebounded,” said the source. “And then the offer rose to RMB72,000/t (USD11,576/t) delivered, but the deals at this level was thin.”
The source confirmed that buying activity was thin in the past ten days and the price keeps going down this week, from RMB71,500/t (USD11,495/t) to RMB69,500/t (USD11,174/t) ex works for antimony ingot 99.65%min.
