Chinese seamless pipe market slow

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 5 Nov 12 - The price of Chinese seamless pipe keeps stable on a national scale, while the market performance makes no improvement at this moment. Insiders choose to hold a wait-and-see attitude towards the forthcoming market.
A sales official from a seamless pipe trader in Foshan, Guangdong Province, the distributing centre of South China informs that his quotations for 20# Φ108mm*4.5mm GB/T8163 and 20# Φ219mm*6mm GB/T8163 from steel mills in Shandong Province remain unchanged at RMB4,550/t and RMB4,850/t (VAT included) respectively.
In the meantime, the source discloses that the demand from downstream buyers continues to be soft in the local market. Holding a stock of 2,000t in hand, he claims that his sales volume remains about 50tpd, while it is over 150tpd in the peak season. Being rather disappointed at the market performance, he shows little confidence in the coming market.
