Prices of most stainless steel products in China continued the downward trend in August because the demand from customers did not release at all, although the markdowns were narrower. Meanwhile, the price of the raw material-nickel kept fluctuating in most time of this month, and it could support the stainless steel market. Major steel-TISCO decreased prices of stainless steel for September delivery, so market participants’ confidence was weakened again. However, as most traders dare not build up high stocks and mills kept cutting outputs, observers predict that prices of stainless steel will be stabilized next month.
