Affected by the low demand from downstream industries, Chinese gallium market continued to be lackluster in May. Most end-users were unwilling to hold inventories in large volume and still took a cautious attitude towards procurement. The prices of Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min decreased from RMB2,350-2,550/kg (USD373-405/kg) in early May to RMB2,000-2,200/kg (USD317-349/kg) in late May, with a 14% decrease throughout this month. As the demand from the consumers is still low and does not show any sign of rebound, the gallium market will not firm up in Jun, and the price of gallium metal 99.99%min could move down further.
