The stainless steel market was rather calm in the first month of 2012, which is the traditional holiday season, with two holidays in the month-New Year and Spring Festival holiday. Most participants began taking the Spring Festival holiday just in the middle of the month or earlier, and the holiday lasted for about 10-15 days till the end of January, so the market remained sluggish and most stainless steel products’ prices were unchanged. However, the price of nickel showed bullish upward trend encouraged by all kinds of good news both home and abroad.
