Huludao Bajia Mining resumes normal production of copper concentrate

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Apr 21 - Huludao Bajia Mining Co., Ltd., one of main copper concentrate producers in northeastern China, resumed normal production since mid-March, and produced about 400 metal tons of copper concentrate in March, a source from the company told Asian Metal.
The company suspended copper concentrate production from February 10 due to equipment maintenance, and originally planned to resume production in late February. "Due to the mine explosive restrictions during the two sessions in early March, we had to postpone the time of production resumption and finally resumed normal production in mid-March," the source said, adding that their copper concentrate output in March was only about 400 metal tons, and is expected to increase to about 800 metal tons in April.
With an annual production capacity of 12,000 metal tons of copper concentrate, the company produced about 10,500 metal tons in 2020 and only around 1,400 metal tons in the first quarter of 2021. The company produces copper concentrate with the grade at around 20% and mainly sells the material to Huludao Hongyue Northern Copper Co., Ltd.
Mainstream prices for copper concentrate 20%min stood at RMB58,650-58,850/metal ton (USD8,968-8,998/metal ton) delivered in Chinese market this Wednesday, down by about RMB200/metal ton (USD30.58/metal ton) from Tuesday.
