Guangxi Maoxin to increase scandium oxide output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Apr 21 - Guangxi Maoxin Technology Co., with an annual production capacity of four tons of scandium oxide 95%min, produced about 250kg in March and supposes the output would increase by around 20% MoM to approximately 300kg this month.
"As we already expanded scandium metal 99.99%min and aluminium scandium alloy businesses in Hunan and Chinese titanium oxide prices keep rising, we planned to increase the scandium oxide 99.99%min output this month," said the source. The plant produced about two and a half tons of scandium oxide 95%min in 2020 and supposes the output would reach about three tons this year.
Founded in March 2016, Guangxi Maoxin Technology Co. extracts the scandium oxide 95-99.99%min from titanium oxide waste acid and specializes in enrichment extraction of scandium oxide 99.99%min and other non-ferrous metal products from waste water, waste residue and purification. Now the company owns two production lines for scandium oxide 95-99.99%min.
Currently, mainstream prices of Chinese scandium oxide 99.99%min stay at RMB5,600-6,100/kg (USD855-931/kg) EXW D/P, down by around RMB200/kg (USD30.5/kg) from one month ago. The producer noted that he last sold around 50kg of scandium oxide 95%min at about RMB4,000/kg (USD611/kg) to a regular client late last week.
