BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Mar 21 - One of the major silicomanganese 65/17 producers in China, Erdos Xijin Mining and Metallurgy Co., cut silicomanganese 65/17 production on February 26th
A source from the company disclosed that they shut down four submerged arc furnaces of 25,000kVA for silicomanganese 65/17 production on February 26th for respond to the energy consumption reduction policy in Inner Mongolia, and their output would move down to about 14,000t in March. "We had eight submerged arc furnaces of 25,000kVA for silicomanganese 65/17 production. We only maintain four submerged arc furnaces of 25,000kVA for silicomanganese 65/17 production in March," the producer revealed, adding that they plan to resume the full production in the late March . They mainly sold the products to steel mills. As most suppliers hold the prices firm now, they expect that the prices of Chinese silicomanganese 65/17 would stay stable in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 400,000t of Chinese silicomanganese 65/17 and an output of around 266,000t in 2020, the company has eight submerged-arc furnaces of 25,000kVA. The producer expects to produce about 14,000t this month, compared to about 28,000t last month, and holds no stocks now, unchanged from last month . Their output achieved about 54,000t so far in 2021.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese silicomanganese 65/17 stand at RMB6,900-7,100/t (USD1,069-1,101/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from last week.
