China's new regulation on pollutant discharge permits to take effect on Mar 1

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang recently signed a State Council decree which unveils a regulation on administration of pollutant discharge permits, with the new regulation to come into effect on March 1, 2021.
In accordance with the environmental protection law, the new regulation is expected to standardize the permit application procedures, improve discharge management, tighten supervision and clarify the responsibilities of enterprises and public institutions, in a bid to strengthen regulation on pollutant discharge permits, regularizing the discharge from enterprises, public institutions and other producers and business operators, control pollution and protect the environment.
