On the morning of January 18 in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China Aviation Lithium Battery Technology signed its Stage Four project construction agreement, thus bringing the company's total production capacity in 2021, including operational, under construction and to be constructed, to exceed 100GWh.
Stage Four project will have an investment of RMB13.5 billion (USD2.08 billion) and a designed production capacity of 25GWh Li-ion power battery; and related R&D and service facilities will also be built for the project. It is expected to be completely built and go into operation by December 31, 2023. When the project is built, China Aviation Lithium Battery Technology will have annual production capacity of over 60GWh in Jintan county, Changzhou city, which is expected to bring in an annual sales revenue of over RMB30 billion (USD4.62 billion) and contribute an annual taxation of RMB3 billion (USD0.46 billion); by then Jintan will be the largest production base of Li-ion power battery in China.
