Malaysia starts state of emergency

Malaysian National Palace announced on 12 January local time that Abdullah, the country's supreme head of state, approved state of emergency, starting from 12 January, in order to respond to the increasingly serious pandemic. The state of emergency will be effective through 1 August, or an earlier date on which the pandemic is effectively controlled.
