Taiwan's coal imports down by 20.42% MOM in Dec

The preliminary statistics of Taiwan Customs show that in December 2020, the total coal imports of Taiwan were 3.995 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.77% and a month-on-month decrease of 20.42%.
In December, Taiwan imported 3.95 million tons of thermal coal, down by 20.86% from 4.997 million tons in November and 12.04% from 4.496 million tons of a year earlier.
In the same month, Taiwan's bituminous coal imports were 3.027 million tons, down by 27.05% YOY and 23.6% MOM. The import volume of sub-bituminous coal was 927,600 tons, up by 167.47% over a year ago and down by 10.34% from last month. The import volume of anthracite was 40,300 tons, up by 27.13% year on year and 75.22% month on month.
In 2020, Taiwan imported 63.142 million tons of coal, down by 5.88% from the corresponding period of last year.
