HBIS becomes first Chinese producer of high-performance wear-resistant steel NM500-KC

On 9 October, HBIS, the first Chinese producer of wear-resistant steel NM500-KC with a tensile strength of 1,500MPa, sent the material to a professional dump truck manufacturer in North China. After being processed, the product will be used to manufacture the body of off-highway mining dump trucks, which will serve Heidaigou opencast coal mine, one of five opencast coal mines in China.
NM500-KC is a high-performance wear-resistant steel customized for the client and of a tensile strength of 1,500MPa, the first application in China. Compared to 1,300MPa wear-resistant steel, the product is 30% lower in weight and over two times longer in service life under the same conditions.
After the delivery of the first batch of more than 260 tons of NM500-KC, the client placed another six orders with a total volume of over 1,400 tons.
