1. Market Highlights
Chinese HC ferrochrome sellers raised prices slightly in September supported by higher prices of raw material chrome ore, so the prices of HC ferrochrome in Chinese market edged up this month. LC ferrochrome prices also edged up due to limited inventory and high cost. In addition, the rising raw material prices also pushed up silicochromium prices.
In September, Chinese chrome metal sellers raised prices slightly in view of the small increase in chrome oxide green prices. However, FOB prices of chrome metal were flat affected by sporadic exports.
This month, with South African chrome ore sellers holding firm prices, prices of the material in Chinese ports and the CIF China prices of the material both increased. But prices for Turkish chrome ore in Chinese ports softened as sellers reduced prices for sales due to weak demand; FOB China prices of the material shared the same trend.
