On 30 September, Pingshan county government announced that it was required to shut down 190,000 tons of ironmaking production capacity and 420,000 tons of steelmaking production capacity in 2020 according to the "notice about iron and steel overcapacity reduction in 2020" released by Shijiazhuang municipal government and halted operation of related smelting equipment of Jingye Iron and Steel before the end of September.
