Japan's steel products export volume down by 14.45% YOY in Aug

According to data released by JISF recently, Japan exported 2.5873 million tons of steel products in August, down by 14.45% YOY while up by 3.93% MOM.
In this month, Japan exported 1.7574 million tons of carbon steel, recording a decline of 14.48% from a year earlier but a growth of 10.15% compared with last month; it exported 388,700t of special steel, dropping by 35.75% YOY but rising by 8.8% MOM.
In August, Japan's export volume of hot-rolled steel was 1.0014 million tons, that of steel plates was 195,800t and that of galvanized steel was 121,900t.
From January to August, Japan totally exported steel products of 22.1476 million tons, down by 1% from the same period of last year.
The data showed that Japan imported 462,200t of steel products in August, down by 27.68% YOY and 10.48% MOM. This volume included 291,200t of carbon steel and 43,800t of special steel, decreasing by 21.66% YOY and 16.11% YOY respectively.
In the first eight months of this year, Japan totally imported steel products of 4.6559 million tons, down by 21% compared with the same period of last year.
