India's crude steel output down by 25.9% YOY in Apr-Aug

According to data released by JPC, India's crude steel output declined by 25.9% YOY to 34.272 million tons in April-August 2020, and that of finished steel, including alloy, stainless steel and non-alloy, decreased by 30.9% YOY to 30.08 million tons.
India's consumption volume of finished steel, including alloy, stainless steel and non-alloy, stood at 27.435 million tons in April-August 2020, down by 35.5% against the figure in the same period of last fiscal year.
Data released by JPC also indicated that India's steel product exports went up sharply by 94.8% YOY to 5.68 million tons in April-August 2020, but the imports dropped by 51.7% YOY to 1.67 million tons.
