Brazil produces 32.569 million tons of crude steel in 2019

		According to the data released by IAB, Brazil's crude steel output posted 32.569 million tons in 2019. There are 14 major iron and steel enterprises in Brazil, with more than 110,000 employees. Brazil has an annual production capacity of 51.45 million tons for crude steel, while the annual output only accounts for 63.3% of the capacity. Steel mills are distributed in nine states, mainly in the Southeast (86.1%) and Northeast (10.7%), with the top three states of Minas (32%), Rio (26.9%) and Espirito Santo (20.3%).
In 2019, the apparent consumption of steel products in Brazil recorded 20.977 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.08%. The main consumption areas were engineering, machinery equipment, automobile industry, home appliance manufacturing, etc.
