Mexico launches anti dumping investigation on alloy carbon steel plate of Brazil and Russia

On September 21, 2020, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Mexico announced in the official gazette that, at the application of Mexican enterprises, it decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on alloy carbon steel plates originating in Brazil and Russia. The dumping investigation period of this case is from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, and the injury investigation period is from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019. The TIGIE tax numbers of the products involved were 7207.12.99, 7207.20.99, 7224.90.02 and 7224.90.99. The announcement shall take effect from the next day of promulgation.
According to the relevant laws of Mexico, the Ministry of Economy of Mexico can retroactively levy anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the case imported within 90 days before the implementation of the provisional anti-dumping measures.
