Mengtai Group's aluminum alloy project to put into production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Sep 20 – Erdos Mengtai Group Co., a major aluminum manufacturer in North China, would start the commissioning of the new aluminum alloy project in late October, with a production capacity of 200,000tpy. They might achieve full operation by the end of this year.
The Group owns an aluminum plant with production capacity of 450,000tpy, which runs at full operation at present. "Now we only produce aluminum ingot, and would provide aluminum liquid to the aluminum alloy plant from late next month," said the source, expecting that the plant would achieve full operation by the end of this year, and their aluminum liquid supply rate would achieve around 44% next year.
The Group produced about 37,500t of aluminum in August and expects the same output in September, holding no inventories now. They produced about 250,000t in total last year and around 225,000t in the first half of this year.
This Tuesday, mainstream aluminum ingot prices in warehouse Shanghai stood at RMB14,710-14,810/t (USD2168-2,183/t), down by RMB30/t (USD4/t) from Monday.
