According to the Implementation plan of the three-year action plan for strengthening functional energy upgrading project after the epidemic (2020-2022) released by Hubei provincial government on September 17, Hubei will increase the coal reserve capacity by 6.58 million tons by the end of 2022, with the reserve capacity to account for 10% of the annual coal consumption.
Due to the lack of coal and gas in Hubei Province, it has faced great energy security pressure for a long time. In recent years, the power supply has been in a "tight balance" state every summer.
Therefore, in terms of coal, the plan proposes to promote the construction of "Haoji railway + Yangtze River water transportation" coal transportation system, build a large-scale coal reserve base focusing on Jingzhou Jiangling, and build small and medium-sized coal storage and distribution bases in Wuhan, Xiangyang, Yichang, Jingmen and other places relying on key coal enterprises. By the end of 2022, 6.58 million tons of coal reserve capacity will be added, with the reserve capacity to account for 10% of the annual coal consumption.
