Xinjiang to withdraw six coal mines in 2020

Xinjiang Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have jointly issued the Plan for Reducing Overcapacity in Coal Industry in 2020. According to the plan, Xinjiang Autonomous Region plans to close six coal mines with a combined annual capacity of 600,000t in 2020. Among them, Changji will close three coal mines with an annual capacity of 330,000t; Turpan will close two coal mines with an annual capacity of 180,000t; Yili will weed out one coal mine, with an annual output capacity of 90,000t.
