WISCO produces globally smoothest hot-rolled steel plate

On September 12, WISCO Industry New Materials Company packed and delivered 200t of magnet yoke steel tail goods stored in its warehouse. This batch of steel plate will be used by Wudongde hydroelectric station and installed in rotator, the core part of the world largest hydropower generating units that have started operation. By now, WISCO completed the three-year-long supply to Wudongde project.
In 2011, WISCO started the research work and defined a project for Wudongde hydroelectric station. It developed ultra high-strength magnet yoke steel plate after study of over six years, which is the smoothest hot-rolled steel plate in the world at present.
