Chinese stainless steel prices witnessed an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and the increase in steel mills' list prices. However, seeing the continuous price increase in the month, customers without urgent need for materials were mostly holding a wait-and-see attitude and placing orders sparingly. Because of the higher purchase cost and weak demand, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles.
