Prices of both non-grain oriented electrical steel and grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China witnessed an upward trend during this month mainly supported by the increase in steel mills' list prices and low market inventory. Mainstream steel mills such as Baosteel, WISCO and Ansteel all announced to raise their list prices of NGO electrical steel produced in September. Nevertheless, seeing the continuous price increase, customers were still mostly purchasing materials for urgent need and the market sales performance remained unsatisfying. Because of the higher purchase cost and weak demand, traders refused to build large stockpiles.
