1. Market Highlights
Encouraged by increased production cost, prices of CRC and HGI in Chinese leading markets saw an increase of around RMB200/t (USD29/t) in July. Upon the higher production cost and increased prices in the spot market, steel mills like Baowu Group, Ansteel, Bengang Steel and Shougang Steel announced to lift CRC and HGI coil prices for August production, showing confidence in the coming market. On higher purchasing cost, traders showed little willingness to hold stocks due to higher potential risks.
In the international market, CRC and HGI coil market in many Asian countries like Malaysia, Vietnam and India recorded an upward trend on higher raw materials prices and slight demand recovery. Chinese CRC and HGI coil export prices struggled to move up further this month.
