Indonesia, the world's largest thermal coal exporter, produced 272 million tons of coal in the January to June period, energy ministry spokesman Agung Pribadi revealed on Monday.
The country targeted 550 million tons of output this year, but Energy Minister Arifin Tasrif expects 2020 output to be lower than the target because of weak demand.
The Indonesian Coal Miners Association said on July 1 they are slashing their output target by 15%-20% this year.
