Chinese stainless steel prices witnessed different trends during this month. Prices of 304 grade stainless HRC and CRC, 201 grade stainless CRC, 300 series stainless steel bar and 304 grade stainless seamless pipe in major markets of China went down during the month on weak demand, and those of 201 grade stainless HRC were generally stable, while those of 430 grade stainless CRC kept the upward trend mainly supported by the increase in steel mills' list prices. The market sales performance continued to be unsatisfying as customers preferred to purchase materials for urgent need. Because of the high purchase cost and weak demand, traders refused to build large stockpiles.
